Donating crypto is safe, easy, and fast. Using the donation form on this page, making a charitable gift is a quick three-step process: 

• Select your preferred cryptocurrency and enter your gift amount 
• Provide your email address and contact information (or choose to give anonymously)
• Make your gift! 

Upon making a donation, you can elect to receive an automatically generated tax receipt that will be sent to the email address you provide.

Yes, your crypto donation is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. The IRS does not treat cryptocurrency as cash. Instead, it treats crypto as property—similar to donating stocks, artwork, or other non-cash assets. That means if your crypto has increased in value, donating it instead of selling it first can help you avoid capital gains tax. Please consult your tax advisor with further questions.

Crypto asset donations are processed and sold by The Giving Block and the net proceeds from the sale of the assets are transferred to Americares is U.S. dollars. Americares does not maintain any cryptocurrency or a reserve of cryptocurrency, therefore all crypto asset donations to Americares are deemed final.
